Date: 19 September Venue: bank of the River Neris near the White Bridge in Vilnius, City of Linz Promoter: Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre
The idea of this international music project is to join the spaces of two capitals of culture – Vilnius and Linz through joint concerts of “Water Music of Capital City”. Students and lecturers of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and Linz Anton Bruckner University of Music, Theatre and Dance will play music on the embankment of the Neris. They will perform G.F. Händel “Water Music”, R. Jungwirth “Music and Water”, G. Crumb “An Idyll for the Misbegotten” (the scores of the latter compositions contain a reference: “Ideally, the composition should be heard from the other side of the lake in the moonlight evening of august”), Toru Takemitsu “Towards the Sea” and two more compositions created specially for this occasion by composers from Vilnius and Linz.
